El Salvador, the smallest country in Central America, is often associated with violence, poverty, and gang crime. However, El Salvador has so much more to offer. In 2021, the government introduced Bitcoin as an official currency.
At the same time, the determined crackdown on gangs led to a level of security the country had not experienced in decades.
These changes have propelled El Salvador into a phase of rapid transformation. A new wave of tourism, economic development, and social challenges is shaping the country and its people.
This work is dedicated to the culture of El Salvador, its people, and their perspectives on this radical change.
